Dolphin Assisted Therapy Programs
 DAT

Our flagship program, Dolphin Assisted Therapy (DAT), continues the tradition of our shared sense of Dr. Upledger's vision for respectful, free and willing interaction between dolphins and humans with intentions for healing.  It is intriguing that the dolphins' therapeutic interactions with humans is completely natural.  The dolphins are free to interact, or not, with the clients and therapy teams.

The dolphins' free and willing participation ensures a unique experience for each client.

We invite you (as a client or therapist) to attend a Dolphin Assisted Therapy Program where, like the Comprehensive Therapy Programs, CranioSacral Therapy is used to integrate multiple modalities of treatment in a 5-day program that effectively and profoundly facilitates healing.

Currently, these programs are held in Freeport, Grand Bahamas.  The programs are staffed by our diverse community of therapists.

UNEXSO, where the dolphin interaction portion of these programs happens, is a wonderful facility with truly caring management and trainers.  The dolphins' well-being is put first at all times.

Dolphin Assisted Therapy Programs have the potential to be a truly life altering experience.  For others, it is a start or a significant part of the process of healing and experiencing life.

The Dolphin Assisted Therapy Programs incorporate many modalities of healthcare, both traditional and innovative.  All Integrative Intentions therapists are trained in Upledger CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and many are Techniques and Diplomate certified by the Upledger Institute.  Each therapist blends their unique nature, skills and healing modalities with integrative intentions.

These programs are client centered, a hands-on holistic process where the therapy is guided by the healing inner wisdom of the client.  Usually, clients are referred to our programs by a CranioSacral therapist who will have determined its suitability with the client prior to attending.

A deposit is required with registration in order to confirm your place in the program. After you have registered, you will receive specific information about the program you are attending.

The Comprehensive Therapy programs are currently designed for 8-11 clients and span five consecutive days with morning and afternoon treatment sessions.  Since continuity is very important in these programs, we encourage you to participate in all five days.  All clients will be treated in a large treatment space during the therapy day.  They will also have use of other therapeutic facilities such as a heated pool, barn/yard for equine therapy or a massage room, if the client and therapy team wish to utilize them (available facilities may depend on program location).  During a program, there may be as many as 30-40 therapists present.  Client-Therapist teams are organized and rotated to consist of a Primary therapist and one or more Support therapists for each client, each day.  An adjunctive (or floating) therapist may be available to provide a specific treatment modality (such as acupuncture) to enhance the treatment.

Integrative Intentions has been facilitating these programs since 2004 and we deeply appreciate the opportunity to share them with you.

We invite you to participate in these programs and classes which provide a unique opportunity for inter-species connections and cooperation that continue Dr. Upledger’s vision for free and willing interactions with dolphins with the intention of healing.

Integrative Intentions is supporting  a project being developed by International Marine Mammal Consultant Robert Eiser Ph.D.. "The project concentrates on the mental and physical health of dolphins under human care through open ocean training."  Further information on this unique concept will be posted on our Dolphins page.

The Graham Fund

In an effort to make a difference in a child’s life and pay acts of kindness forward, the Graham Fund was created with the intention of providing funding for children who might not otherwise be able to attend a Dolphin Assisted Therapy Program to give back the gift my son Graham received from this wonderful, miraculous work.

In 2000, my entire life changed when my son Graham was born with Cerebral Palsy.  We searched the globe for programs that could help us communicate with Graham.

During the first trip we took to the Bahamas in 2004 to work with the dolphins, our lives changed.  It is my wish to help children ages 0-15, the age of our son Graham in 2015, in hopes that others will experience what we did- a journey of healing and hope.

It is my honor to dedicate a scholarship fund and to give back this gift to other children.  Monies raised for Graham’s Fund will ensure that any child can participate in this type of therapy.  I hope you will join me by paying it forward through a donation to the Graham Fund.

In addition to my own personal donation, 100% of the e-book sales in the inaugural promotional matching program of my book, "Beyond a Charmed Life" will be donated to this fund.  Learn more at www.chatcollective.com and join our community today to make a difference.

With gratitude,

Barbara Huntress Tresness, author, craniosacral therapist, advocate and mom
